Euston to Preston (Part 1)
The Royal Scot, InterCity West Coast’s crack express from Euston to Glasgow. Part 1 covers the first leg from London Euston scheduled to run non-stop to Preston at a maximum speed of 110mph aboard a class 87 locomotive. The route takes us via Watford Junction, Milton Keynes, Rugby, Stafford and Crewe. Due to a broken rail, the train takes an unplanned switch to the slow line for a few miles to the north of Watford Junction. With no intermediate station stops, this Driver’s Eye View is more continuous than most. There are of course, numerous shots taken inside the cab as well as from the trackside. Preston to Glasgow Central (Part 2)
Britain’s West Coast Mainline viewed from the cab of a class 87 electric locomotive at the head of InterCity West Coast’s crack express from Euston to Glasgow. Part 2 of this journey covers the final leg from Preston to Glasgow Central over the legendary banks at Shap and Beattock. The train makes intermediate stops at Oxenholme and Carlisle.
