Steam on the Fleurieu Peninsular

  • $30.00

2012 marked the 60th anniversary of the Australian Railway Historical Society South Australian Division and to celebrate the event, Rx 207 and 621 “Duke of Edinburgh” operated on 2 separate trains to Goolwa, before combining to form a double header for the run back to Mt Barker. We covered the train at a variety of locations including 621 being turned on the Mt Barker turntable in the evening with an atmospheric boiler blow down.

We chased 621 operating 2 Southern Encounter workings in June providing spectacular sound and vision with 2 ascents of Philcox Hill, preparations at Mt Barker depot, to blow downs near the coal stage and over the Angus River at Strathalbyn.

We return to SteamRanger in September to film a full days running with 621 on the Southern Encounter, beginning at the depot at Mt Barker before following it to a variety of locations along the line. At Victor Harbour, watch the loco being turned, then operating the Cockle Train to Goolwa and return. Later in the afternoon, 621 starts the return run back to Mt Barker and we follow the loco to a variety of line side locations featuring plenty of great sound and vision with another blow down at Mt Barker station, and the final shunting moves at the end of the day.

This DVD is a must for every railway enthusiast’s library!
