Tasmanian Railways - Volume 5

  • $30.00

Volume 5 of the Tasmanian Railways series begins with extensive coverage of 4-8-2 steam locomotive H2 working tourist trains for the Derwent Valley Railway to Mt Field and Maydena.

Hear the sounds of this mighty steam engine as it tackles steep gradients with plenty of great sound and vision.

The scenes throughout this chapter show the loco running in the early 1990's and conclude with shots taken in June 2017 of the 4-8-2s restoration at New Norfolk.

Enjoy over 50 minutes of rare footage of this very popular steam locomotive at work at a variety of locations between Claremont and Maydena.

We then move onto steam loco M4 working regular Sunday services at the Don River Railway in January 2017.

On this beautiful summers day we see the Pacific type steam loco running tender first and smoke box first on the Don College Straight and in the Coles Beach area with 3 restored passenger cars in tow.

Our next Tasmanian Government Railways steam loco is sister M class number 5, which is shown in April 2016 at the Tasmanian Transport Museum during the 20th anniversary of its return to steam.

We end the 5th volume of this series with a 1992 visit to the Bellarine Railway in Victoria to view M6 operating with Tasmanian rolling stock between Queenscliff and Drysdale.

If you enjoy steam action past and present, then you won't want to miss this action packed DVD.
