Tasmanian Railways - Volume 3

  • $30.00

Since the release of Tasmanian Railways Volumes 1 and 2 back in 2011, so much has changed on the mainline.

Most of the older classes of loco have been retired, and a brand new type known as the TR class have taken over most of the freight traffic around the state.

At the time of this programme being released in February 2017, 7 of the 12 DQ class still remained in service and could be found in regular use on the Melba Line, and on works trains in other parts of the state.

In Volume 3 of this continuing series we look at TR's and DQ's on the Tasrail network with double and triple headers, plus a variety of traffic which is now carried by rail.

On the preserved network, we look at preserved M class steam locomotives with up to date scenes of them at work.

As well as viewing a variety of different trains, we also travel to scenic locations such as the North West Coast between Devonport and Burnie, the picturesque Don River with the upgraded concrete bridge, Colebrook, Rhyndaston, Tea Tree, Rekuna and many other places to view the rail action across the Apple Isle.

See hard working DQ class hauling ballast trains and assisting TR class on 2 revenue earning freights on the South line.

Also, triple headed TR's are seen leaving the Brighton Transport Hub and hauling train 35 between Colebrook and Brighton.

Don't miss volume 3 of Tasmanian Railways, filmed, narrated, edited and produced Rowan Kinnane.
