Tasmanian Railways - April 2017

  • $30.00

Tasmania with ore, paper, intermodal, ballast and coal trains across the state.

We begin with DV1 as it works the cement train between Devonport and Railton, and triple headed DQ's make a fine site as they smoke it up on the Melba Line between Burnie and Guildford.

The ex Emu Bay Railway 1002 is covered for the first time in a Rail Media DVD as we see it at a variety of different camera angles over 2 days in glorious autumn sunshine.

Quad TR class lead train 35 south and on the same day we take a look at the old steam days ventilation shafts which would soon be upgraded with concrete.

The Tasmanian Transport Museums steam loco M5 retires from service for its 2 yearly boiler inspection. We watch the loco running regular shuttle trips on the demonstration line and the final shunting moves to put everything away for the night.

The ballast train returned to the South Line in late April and we follow its progress to Parattah and north through the Midlands.

Another rare event occurred on the Fingal Line as 2 separate trains ran in one morning. We begin this chapter with double DQ's working a ballast train east, and then watch the regular coal train departing for the run west to Conara.

Detailed narration and a variety of locations which include some new and exciting camera angles. Don't miss Tasmanian Railways - April 2017!
