Southern Pacific Herington Sub

The Herington Sub has a long history: Rock Island, Cotton Belt/Southern Pacific and now Union Pacific. But, in 1993 the line between Kansas City and Herington, Kansas was solid Southern Pacific territory. You will see a variety of motive power, from home-grown SP & SSW units to oddities like the Kodachrome paint scheme from failed Southern Pacific/Santa Fe merger. Foreign road power makes many appearances. You will see plenty of UP traffic as the SP shared the UP line via trackage rights from KC to Topeka.
