The Adelaide Hills are the scene for the next 11 shots and these are followed by a quite different excursion to the lightly laid Apamurra branch.  Our visit to South Australia finishes with one more scene of an interstate train, this time heading for Adelaide on a  in grade west of Callington.

The last section looks briefly at passenger trains in the vicinity of Ararat, in western Victoria, then moves north, with some freight scenes around Echuca.

Railview 10 - Along the Track in South Australia - 1996 & 1998

RailView 10 opens with 1996 scens on the main Adelaid-Melbourne line in the Mt Lofty Ranges, The Penrice-Osbourne stone train is then seen in the Barossa Valley, north of Adelaide.

The scene now moves to the Port Augujsta area and we then move briefly to Broken Hill to end this section.

The year is now 1998: the NRs have arrived, but the loco scene is just as varied as earlier.  As with the 1996 shots, the scene is first of all in the Mt Lofty Ranges.  We then move to the north of Adelaide, but this time we see a broad gauge grain train as well as the Penrice train.  We then head to Port Augusta and its “outback” landscape, with some striking scenes to be enjoyed!

Locomotives seen in various combinations: CLF, CLP, BL, C, ST, 600, CK, 700, EL, DL, AN, GM, 830, NR, G and ALF!
