Tasmanian Railways - Volume 6

  • $29.95

Volume 6 of the Tasmanian Railways series extensively covers the TR class on the Melba Line in early 2014 as they perform clearance testing and load trials on this heavily graded line.

Join the camera crew at locations such as Ridgley, Farrell, Boco and Moory Junction for unforgettable sights and sounds of these very rare events which have not been repeated since.

We also cover triple headed DQ's on a fully loaded ore train at Hampshire, Highclere and Ridgley as they return north to Burnie from the mine at Primrose.

Moving to the Western Line we cover a variety of workings as the TR's are mixed in with a number of different loco classes which were still in service at the time.

We take a brief look at the Suburban line between Bridgwater and Hobart before freight trains ceased running into the capital city in June 2014.

In 2016 a large number of ballast trains ran on the South Line, and we cover a couple of these with DQ's 2012 and 2001.

The TR class are again shown but this time in the south of the state on trains 32 and 34 which included a single loco working alone.

We end volume 6 with steam loco C22 operating for the last time in 2015 at the Tasmanian Transport Museum on a hot summer's day.

5 loco lash ups are featured 3 times in this production, these are TR/TR/DQ/DQ/DQ, TR/TR/2050/D/D and finally DQ/DQ/DQ/TR/TR on train 31 between Burnie and Devonport.

You won't want to miss another action packed volume of the Tasmanian Railways series.
