DQ Power Statewide

  • $29.95

The DQ class locomotives were still a regular site across Tasmania in 2017 and 2018, particular on the Melba Line with its sharp curves and steep gradients.

Since their introduction to service in Tasmania during the late 1990's, they have put on quite a show with their loud exhausts and well-proportioned design.

In this production, we chase the locomotives across the state, beginning at Coal Mine Bend as we watch locos 2006 and 2010 hauling a ballast train to the Brighton Transport Hub.

The very next day, 2011 made an appearance on a combined paper and empty log train, and we follow it to locations such as Danby, Lowdina, Campania and Rekuna bank.

3 shots are also included of 2 locos working on the Bell Bay line with a container train, as well as another few scenes of 2011 heading around to the Boyer newsprint mill in late June 2018.

But the major highlights of this production are included on the Melba Line, as we travel 4 times to see quad DQ class working the ore trains.

We feature a variety of locations including Pigeon Hill, Goodwood, Guildford, Moory Junction, Boco Siding, Farrell and the Pieman River bridge.

You won't want to miss this production which is available in both DVD and Blu-Ray formats.

Filmed, narrated, edited and produced Rowan Kinnane.
