Last Stand of the 251
It’s the late 1980’s and across Quebec Alco products reigned supreme.
The Canadian Pacific operated pure sets of MLW’s on its main line and several branch lines, along with its subsidiary, the Quebec Central.
Once finding the trains, railfans entered a land forgotten, with big & small MLW’s hauling freight in much of Quebec & between Montreal and the Maritimes, servicing the port of Saint John, New Brunswick and providing rail access for the paper mills in Northern Maine.
This volume focuses on CP’s Mainline, and the rewards of chasing several trains, along with a look at the Newport (VT) Subdivision, the Quebec Central’s Vallee Subdivision, and an exciting ride on M636 #4739!
A handy 12 page case insert booklet is also included.
