Brief History

Train Pictures was formed in 2001 as a specialist video production company, located in Brisbane, Australia.  

The purpose of the production company is to capture and promote the sights, sounds and technical aspects of trains, for the enjoyment of today’s rail fans and to encourage burgeoning fans of tomorrow. Train Pictures is also working hard to promote Australia’s rail heritage by producing a series of videos on Preserved Trains and Rail Historical Societies in Australia.

Over time we have expanded into distribution and sales, handling a huge range of titles and labels from all over the world including many Australian producers. Our own label “Train Pictures” has grown to include New Zealand and South African content as well as other transport related subjects.

Train Pictures uses digital equipment in our production studio to ensure the highest quality result and long-term longevity of footage. The videos we produce move away from the lifestyle type program that is so readily available and instead focus solely on the subject matter.

In 2008 Train Pictures purchased Series 567 Rail Video, a distribution and mail order company based in Victoria. The company held the sole Australian distribution rights for various labels from the U.K and the U.S.A. This range combined with the comprehensive range of labels already held by Train Pictures created Australia's largest range of multimedia titles covering all aspects of Rail and Transportation from all over the world.
